   Carburetor:

C0496-copy-1.jpg

                                       above - 4600 V2/V3 Carburetor

* The spring is attached to the top of the throttle lever and abutment bracket, unlike the spring on the S 3800, 4600 V1, and 5000 which is mounted to the bottom of these pieces.
* The spring is different from the standard S 3800, 4600 V1, 5000 spring
* There is an M4 hex head bolt installed in the lever. This acts as a limit bolt, limiting how high the lever can travel. Without the limit bolt, the lever would travel too high and the spring would come loose and fall off.
* 28 cc fuel jet. A 32 cc jet is shown in the 4600 Dealer parts catalog, but I have never found a 32 cc jet in any 4600

            above - 4600 V2/V3 carburetor lever
                                             * M4 x 7 limit bolt
                                             * hole for spring

*Note: some later model levers have a hole for the spring and also a dimple where the hole for the limit bolt is located. For example, on this Hungarian carburetor: carbuhongrois1.jpg carbuhongrois1.jpg

M4-limit-bolt.jpg

                 above - 4600 V2/V3 carburetor lever limit bolt
                                        * bolt hits cast post on carb body to limit upward travel of the lever
                                        * without this limit bolt, the lever would travel too far up, and the
                                          spring would fall off.

* Note: It is my opinion that the CEV switches used on the V2 and early V3 are better than the APRILIA switches used on the later V3s. The APRILIA switches often break and are difficult to find, and so I recommend replacing them with CEV switches, which are more durable and are easier to find. *
